Coffee conversation with Nikki Cooley, Annette McGiveny, Erin Wilkinson, and Colleen Cooley. Come discuss and learn about the restorative influence Rivers can have. Nikki is a Grand Canyon and San Juan River Guide, co-founder of the Native American River Guide Training Program, Fifth World Discoveries, was the first Native American President and Vice-President of the Grand Canyon River Guides Association. Annette has been Southwest Editor for Backpacker magazine since 1996, a member of the Journalism faculty at Northern Arizona University since 2002, and contributes often to Outside Magazine. Recently Annette wrote Pure Land; is the story of the most brutal murder in the history of Grand Canyon, and how McGivney's quest to investigate the victim's life and death wound up guiding the author through her own life-threatening crisis, which lead to The Healing Lands Project-transcending trauma through connections to nature and community. Please join us. Erin Wilkinson works with the No Barriers project.
